Sunday, September 18, 2016, at 19.00 hours, at the presence of the greek Minister of Culture and Sport, prof. Aristides Baltas, and the Regional Governor of the South Aegean, Georgios Hatzimarkos, the new Archaeological Museum of Kos will be inaugurated.
The Museum was built in 1936, during the Italian period of the islands, and this year celebrates its 80 years from the construction; it has been restored and houses now a new exhibition of coan antiquities.
The event results of the collaboration between the Superintendency of Antiquities of the Dodecanese and the Modern Monuments and Construction Service of Dodecanese and has been financed by the European Operational Programme ESPA for Crete and the Aegean Islands 2007-2013.
