On the occasion of the tercentenary of the birth of Charles of Bourbon, the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria (MArRC), the Department of Architecture and Territory (dArTe) of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria and the Department of Humanities, Arts, Culture, Science Education of the University of Foggia promote the international Conference “The antiquities in the Kingdom. Archaeology, protection and restoration in pre-Unification South Italy “, dedicated to the years between 1734 and 1861, a period in which the Bourbon Kingdom gave a significant boost to the development of South Italy.
The event, to be held in Reggio Calabria on April, 27-28, 2017, aims to retrace the steps of the construction of this, for its time, cutting-edge cultural model.
